Class Description

Join us for the Winter Dance Class series, where you can learn various dance styles in a fun and supportive environment! This program is designed for participants 13 and older and includes three levels of classes to cater to different skill sets.

What Will I Learn?

- - Beginners Dance Class: 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    - What Will I Learn?: In this introductory class, you will learn the basics of popular dances such as Two-Step, Swing, and Waltz. This class focuses on fundamental steps, rhythm, and coordination to help you gain confidence on the dance floor.
  - Intermediate Dance Class: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    - What Will I Learn?: Building on the skills learned in the beginner class, this session introduces additional dances including Polka, Cha Cha, and Rumba. You will refine your technique while learning new steps and combinations.
  - Advanced Dance Class: 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
    - What Will I Learn?: This advanced class covers intricate patterns in East Coast Swing and West Coast Swing, along with enhancing your repertoire of previously learned dances. Participants will focus on mastering advanced techniques and patterns.

Fabric Wrapped Rope Basket Class

Class Description

Join instructor Monica Sellens us for a fun and creative sewing class where you’ll learn to make a 7” x 10” fabric-wrapped rope basket! This hands-on workshop will guide you through wrapping bias strips of fabric around cotton clothesline and stitching them together using a zigzag stitch to create a stylish and functional 7” x 10” oval basket. Instructions for making a round basket will also be covered!

Participants must have a general knowledge of basics sewing skills and able to use straight and zigzag stitches on a sewing machine.

What Will I Learn?

By the end of the class, you’ll have a beautiful handmade basket and the skills to make more at home! This is a great way to use up extra fabric, and once you learn the basics, you might find it addictive!

Supply List

Participants required to bring the following supplies to class:

- - Sewing Machine – machine must be able to sew 1/4″ thickness
  - Rotary cutter, mat, and clear measuring tool (extras available if needed)
  - 2 or more heavy-weight or jeans sewing needles
  - 3/4 yard cotton fabric – quilting prints or batiks work best
  - Optional: 1/2 yard of a coordinating print for a stripe accent
  - Thread and bobbin – match the dominant color of your fabric
  - Basic sewing tools including, but not limited to scissors, straight pins, and seam ripper/li>
