Artist of the Month: Audrey Taylor

Establishing and cultivating relationships with local makers and creatives is one way we invest in our community. The Artist of the Month Contest serves as inspiration, challenging them to keep creating and growing.

Each year, exhibitors in our Arts and Crafts Fair participate in the Artist of the Month contest. Twelve winners are chosen for their uniqueness, creativity, presentation, individual art form, and excellence of their craft.

In addition to receiving special recognition for their achievement, their works are displayed and available for purchase in the Museum for their honored month.

Come support local artist of the month:  We’re excited to feature Audrey Taylor of Lawrence, KS this month at the Hansen Museum! In 2013 Audrey discovered a new creative outlet when she purchased a plasma cutter and ventured into the captivating world of metal art. Drawing inspiration from the beauty of nature and the challenge of transforming discarded metal into something extraordinary, Audrey crafts exquisite flowers, whimsical bugs, charming animals, and one-of-a-kind wall art using both a plasma cutter and welder. Her imaginative creations will be available for purchase throughout the month of October — a perfect opportunity to take home a piece of her artistry.

Would you like to see your arts/crafts displayed at the museum?

Our upcoming annual Arts and Crafts Fair is your opportunity to exhibit your artistic wares, as well as to participate in the contest to become Artist of the Month.
